100% offline navigation
Once at least one map package has been downloaded, navigation works without mobile data.
My-Nav was developed for drivers who do not want to depend on constant mobile data. The app stores maps directly on the device, uses GPS for positioning and enables navigation without an active internet connection.
My-Nav combines a modern Android app with a clear offline concept: download maps, choose a vehicle profile and navigate without a permanent internet connection.
Once at least one map package has been downloaded, navigation works without mobile data.
Internet is only required for map downloads, software updates and license checks.
My-Nav is designed for cars, trucks, buses, campers and caravans.
Many navigation apps work well as long as a stable internet connection is available. But that is not always guaranteed on the road. Dead zones, roaming limits, weak coverage or missing mobile data can quickly become a problem. My-Nav therefore relies on locally stored map packages. After downloading, the maps are available on the device and can be used offline.
My-Nav is not an online map. This means that at least one country package must always be stored on the device. Without a downloaded map package, navigation cannot be started. This approach makes usage clear and predictable and prevents the app from suddenly becoming unusable because of missing network coverage.
On first launch, Austria is automatically prepared as the first map package. A one-time internet connection is required for this. After that, navigation can be used offline with the downloaded map data. Additional countries can later be added through the download area.
My-Nav is not only aimed at regular car drivers. Trucks, buses, campers and caravans can also benefit from navigation designed for different vehicle types. Depending on the selected profile, important information and suitable route options can be better taken into account.
Because My-Nav works offline on the road, there is no live traffic information and no real-time traffic data. Mobile speed cameras are not supported either, because they would require current online data. Fixed speed cameras or stationary hazard points can be included as static warnings where available and legally permitted.
To keep the app validly activated, the device must go online at least once every 15 days. This short online check is used for license verification. Map downloads and software updates are also performed online. Afterwards, navigation can be used offline again.
My-Nav is designed to avoid clutter while driving. Large instructions, understandable symbols, clear route guidance and a reduced interface help users focus on the road. The app should be easy to understand whether it is used in a car, truck, bus or camper.
My-Nav is designed for different use cases: from the daily commute to long journeys with larger vehicles.
For everyday driving, commuting, holiday trips and classic navigation without constant data usage.
For larger vehicles with a focus on suitable route guidance and better planned routes.
For longer routes, clear orientation and a readable display during navigation.
For trips, tours and navigation even in areas with poor or missing network coverage.
For trailer combinations, holiday routes and trips where good preparation is especially important.
My-Nav follows a simple principle: start the app, download maps, choose a vehicle profile and navigate offline.
My-Nav is provided first for Android and installed on a smartphone or tablet.
Austria is automatically downloaded as the first map package on first launch.
Select car, truck, bus, camper or caravan and prepare navigation accordingly.
After the download, the route can be used without an active internet connection.
My-Nav clearly communicates what the app can do and what is intentionally not included. This lets users know what they can rely on before they start driving.
Route calculation and map display work without internet once map packages are downloaded.
Profiles for trucks, buses, campers and caravans support more suitable route planning.
No live traffic, no mobile speed camera warnings and no navigation without a downloaded map package.
Maps and software are updated online and then used offline again.
Navigation is designed for offline use. Some functions still require occasional internet access.
At least one map package must be downloaded.
Austria is automatically prepared on first launch.
Online access is only needed for map downloads, updates and license checks.
The app must briefly go online every 15 days for license verification.
To make sure visitors immediately understand how My-Nav works, the most important limitations are explained clearly.
The map must be downloaded first. Without a map package, navigation is not possible.
Because My-Nav navigates offline, real-time traffic information is not displayed.
Mobile speed cameras require live data and are therefore not included.
The app must briefly go online at least every 15 days.
My-Nav is for everyone looking for understandable, modern and offline-capable navigation β without a constant data connection, but with clearly defined updates and license checks.
The app starts first on Android and will be developed step by step.
